James T. Fields — 19 Nov. 1861
To JAMES T. FIELDS
November 19. [1861], Wheeling
Mr. Fields
If The Story of Today were in book form it ought to have a more complete ending, don’t you think? If you do think so, please send me the last four or five pages, and I will alter them now.
Did I say before that I would accept your advice and write only for the Atlantic next year. I intended to say so.
I have not yet been able to write the short story. It will be done, now however in a week or two, if I am well.
Yours,
R.B.H—
